Velluto a coste per una gonna?? – Corduroy for a skirt??

Come avete trascorso le feste?? Io, tra colazioni, pranzi, aperitivi, cene, riuscirò a smaltire peso giusto per il prossimo Natale…. non preoccupiamocene  perchè tutto é stato condito da chiacchere, baci, abbracci… cosa altro si puo desiderare?

How did you spend yours holidays?? After breakfasts, lunches, aperitifs, dinners, I’ll fix my weight for next Christmas …. but let’s not worry because everything has been accompanied with chatter, kisses, hugs … what more could you wish for?

Veniamo alle cose che veramente contano 😀 … a regali come vi é andata? A me bene, ho ricevuto almeno due scatoloni di tessuto … sono “coperta” fino alla fine della stagione ;D.

Let’s get to the things that really count 😀 … how did you go with the gifts? Well, I received at least two boxes of fabric … I’m fully “covered” till the end of the season ;D.

Nel “bottino” ho anche uno stock di velluto a coste in vari colori, che userò, in buona parte,  con i nuovi costumi per il Carnevale di Venezia.

Comincio con questo velluto verde militare che é diventato una gonna asimmetrica.

In the “booty” I have also a corduroy stock in various colors, that I will mostly use with the new costumes for the Venice Carnival.

I start with this military green velvet that has become an asymmetrical skirt.

Dopo aver studiato che forma dare, ho tagliato una sorta di ellisse. Il giro vita è calcolato in modo da avere un abbondante sormonto trale due parti davanti.

After studying what shape to give it, I cut a kind of ellipse. The waistline is calculated in such a way as to have an abundant overlap between the two front parts.

Ho rinforzato con un cannettè e messo due bottoni nei punti dove mi serviva agganciare il davanti.

I reinforced with a cannettè and put two buttons at the points where I needed to hook the front.

Ultima cosa da fare : l’orlo.

The last thing to do : the hem

Tra le cose che ho regalato a me stessa quest’anno c’era il piedino per l’orlo arrotolato e dopo averlo provato lo consiglio a tutte.

Among the things that I gifted myself this year there was the foot for the rolled edge and, after trying it, I recommend it to everyone.

Mi piacciono molto le gonne e soprattutto le gonne a ruota. Il problema é che l’orlo sul tondo é sempre piu o meno un tedio. Con questo piedino diventa semplice: il tessuto si arrotola da solo senza fare strane torsioni.

I really like skirts and especially full-skirts. The problem is that the hem on the round is always, more or less, a tedium. With this foot everything is easier: the fabric rolls up by itself without twisting.
