Papaveri VS Spighe – Poppies VS Spikes

Colori d’estate in un soprabito?? Un bel campo di papaveri rossi e subito se ne respira il profumo! Il profumo dell’estate!

Summer colors in a overcoat ?? A beautiful field of red poppies and now they can breathe the scent! The scent of summer!

I papaveri mi ricordano le distese di fiori rossi che invadono i campi nelle giornate d’estate, quando il cielo si rivela quell’infinito azzurro che si estende sopra di noi. Probabilmente é il motivo per cui “I papaveri” di Monet è uno dei quadri che più amo.

Poppies remind me of red flowers that invade the fields in the summer days, when the sky is that infinite blue become common on top of  us. Probably is why Monet’s “poppies” is one of the paintings I love most.

Non so se questo influisce sul fatto che stavolta non vorrei perdermi in tecnicismi, ma dare solo alcune significative dritte.

I do not know if this affects the fact that this time I would not want to lose myself in technicalities, but only give some meaningful points.

Il cartamodello è nato dall’unione di soprabito e gonna presi da La Mia Boutique di aprile. L’abito è la stessa gonna unito ad un corpetto che ho preso da La mia Boutique di maggio 2015, ma questo lo riprenderò alla prossima.

The pattern is born of the coat and skirt made by La Mia Boutique April. The dress is the same skirt with a bodice I took from My Boutique in May 2015, but I’ll take it back to the next.

Mi capita di acquistare un tessuto già sapendo cosa diventerà e quando ho preso questi 4 metri di papaveri già volevo abito+soprabito “strutturato”.

I veri trucchi per creare la “struttura” li lascio insieme alla descrizione dell’abito, per ora ecco i passaggi per il soprabito.

I happen to buy a fabric already knowing what will become and when I took these 4 m of poppies I already wanted a “structured” dress + overcoat .
I leave the real tricks to create the “structure” with the description of the dress, for now here are the steps for the overcoat.

Le cose da fare sono:

Things to do:

1. tagliare a misura di cartamodello. Cut to size

Assemblare i pezzi:  ho tagliato il corpetto come da cartamodello del soprabito , la gonna come parte sotto e, per fare da chiusura, ho aggiunto una cintura inserita nelle cuciture laterali

Put together  the pieces:  I cut the corset from the pattern coat , the skirt as bottom and, to close, I added a belt in the side seams

2.Ho unito le parti:  sopra, sotto, paramantura, fodera

I joined the parts: top, bottom, lining

3. Ed ecco la finitura: l’orlo. lo volevo vistoso e mi sono ispirata a Cucicucicoo, un blog che seguo spesso.

And here’s the finishing: the hem. I wanted it flashy and I was inspired by Cucicucicoo, a blog I often follow.

Ho usato uno sbieco alto rosso intenso e ho cucito su un lato il tessuto e sull’altro la fodera. L’effetto è quello che volevo: un bel segno rosso intenso a incorniciare

I used an intense red high bias and I sewed on one side the fabric  and the lining on the other side. The effect is what I wanted: a nice red intense sign to frame

Avevo realizzato il soprabito, nella sua originale versione,  con un altro tessuto, un cotone spalmato su toni scuri. Non ho usato il tulle per dare struttura, ma in ogni caso tra la tipologia del tessuto e i toni scuri il risultato è decisamente diverso.

Mi piace molto anche questa versione, devo ammettere più facilmente portabile, e poi l’abbinata con la borsina mi da soddisfazione

I had made the overcoat, in its original version, with another fabric, a cotton coated on dark tones. I did not use the tulle to give structure, but in any case between the fabric type and the dark tones the outcome is definitely different.
I also like this version very much, I have to admit more portability, and then the match with the bag will satisfy me
